Fatigue and possibility live in the same individual and collective body, especially for those doing work in the name of community, justice, and liberation. This session holds space for both, moving through the world as it is and toward the world as it could be.
We'll begin by naming what decolonizing our yoga practice actually asks of us, using pricing and accessibility as a real, lived example of where extraction quietly persists, including within our own communities, where the patterns we resist elsewhere can take root.
From there, a guided somatic practice lets us feel the world as it is in the body, the weight, the fatigue, the truth of where we've been.
We'll then turn toward freedom dreaming, specific, collective imagination of the world as it could be.
Drawing on the yogic concept of sankalpa, a resolve planted and returned to, we'll move into a guided partner practice, trust and interdependence made felt, sovereign expression created and stewarded together rather than alone.
Part conversation, part embodied practice, this session is an invitation to imagine a different way of being with each other, and to honor an ancestral way of being alive together too, and what it means to be integral stewards and co-creators of our lives, and our collective times.
