About me
Dan Nevins is a world-renowned speaker and yoga teacher whose message of resilience, perseverance, and hope has inspired audiences for over a decade. A highly decorated U.S. Army veteran, Dan was severely injured in 2004 when an IED detonated beneath his vehicle in Iraq, resulting in the loss of both legs below the knee and a traumatic brain injury (TBI).
While Dan’s initial recovery focused on physical adaptive sports—including climbing Mount Kilimanjaro—it was his discovery of yoga in 2014 that truly addressed the "invisible wounds" of war. After a life-changing breakthrough in his third class, where he felt "connected to the earth" for the first time in ten years, he committed to sharing this healing practice with others.
Now a Tier 3 Certified Baptiste Yoga Teacher, Dan leads masterclasses and workshops globally, advocating for "yoga for every-body". He is the founder of the Warrior Spirit Retreat, a non-profit dedicated to helping veterans and their families heal through yoga, mindfulness, and meditation.
In 2026, Dan continues to bridge the gap between military service and mindful living, teaching at major venues such as the White House and international festivals. His teaching is defined by vulnerability and the belief that while we all fight our own "personal wars," yoga provides the tools to move from brokenness to wholeness.
