About me
Davida has spent nearly three decades helping people rediscover what their bodies can do. With 500+ hours of yoga and yin yoga training and 30 years of movement leadership, she brings a rare breadth to her work: the slow, deliberate stillness of yin and meditation alongside the high-energy, music-driven joy of dance and Zumba.
Her teaching is created from a simple conviction. Movement should feel good, and it should be available to everyone. That belief was forged through personal experience. After recovering from severe back pain, Davida learned what it means to rebuild a relationship with your own body from the ground up. That recovery shaped how she teaches today: with practical biomechanics, thoughtful modifications, and a warmth that meets people exactly where they are.
Davida also teaches Qigong, weaving breath, flow, and mindful presence into a practice that bridges the physical and the contemplative. Her classes carry that same dual quality, grounded in anatomy and open to whatever a student needs on a given day.
Her work has reached far beyond the studio. She leads private sessions, community classes, large event warm-ups, and weekend retreats, and is planning her first international retreat in 2026. Her writing has appeared in Yoga Journal and AARP Staying Sharp, and she publishes a weekly wellness blog on Substack.
At the Denver Yoga Summit, Davida brings her full range: the rigor of a seasoned educator, the accessibility of a teacher who has navigated her own healing, and the energy of someone who has never stopped believing that joy and movement belong together. At the Summit, Davida is joined by her husband, Mike Galvin. He is a guitarist who performs with the local bands Centennial and Splinter Cell to offer a relaxing, musical yin practice.
Together, Davida and Mike have meshed their talents into a calming, heart‑opening experience. Their shared creation invites students to soften, breathe, and reconnect with themselves through music and the subtle spaciousness of the moment.Learn more at www.withDavida.com
