Ryan Leier is a globally recognized yoga teacher and community leader celebrated for profound dedication to the authentic teachings of yoga. Based in British Columbia, Canada, Ryan is the visionary behind the One Yoga movement and co-founder of Vinyasa Yoga for Youth, a non-profit dedicated to the mental and spiritual well-being of young people. A former professional basketball player, Ryan turned to yoga to heal both physical and mental hurdles, eventually becoming a lifelong student of the Krishnamacharya lineage.
He has received direct instruction from legendary masters, including B.K.S. Iyengar, Baron Baptiste, Pattabhi Jois, and Father Joe Pereira. He continues his studies with the 87 year young yoga master, Srivatsa Ramaswami and Eddie Modestini. Ryan’s teaching style seamlessly distills deep ancient wisdom, with a dynamic light-hearted approach into accessible, powerful practices for all levels.
Known affectionately as "Ryan the Lion," he serves as a global ambassador for lululemon and remains deeply rooted in the sacred teachings of his Indigenous elders in his home province, Saskatchewan. In 2026, Ryan continues to lead transformative teacher trainings, classes and workshops worldwide, emphasizing the power of yoga as a tool for mental, physical and spiritual wellness, compassion, love and peace.
